English-speacking groups meets from Monday to Friday at 7pm at the Methodist Church, Corrientes 718, Capital and at St. Michael & all Angels Anglican church, Sarmiento 328, Martínez (two blocks from Martínez train station, corner of Eduardo Costa) on Wednesdays at 7pm and Sundays at 6.30 pm. Thrift shop and bazaar in aid of BABS (British and American Benevolent Society's Home for the Elderly). Our shop is at Av. Santa Fe 512, Acasussuso suburb. We sell clothes, shoes and accessories for men, women and children, household articles (except furniture), toys, bijou, collection articles and a very interesting variety of books, all in good condition and at reasonable prices. Open on Mondays, Tuessdays and Wednesdays, 9 to 18 hs and Saturdays 10 to 12.30 hs. Workshop Coordinator:  Heller

Cover topics such as: How to analyze a play for direction (what to look at, what to look for); how to approach 'blocking' (the so-called 'warm' and 'cold' stage areas, movement... when and why it's needed, etc), scene study, how to get actors to do what you want (!), etc. Topics will be added according to available time.

Approach will be very hands-on and practical
(the best way of learning is DOING)

Maximum of 10 participants, working in pairs

Requirements:  Minimum age of 18.
Some theatre background is needed.  Therefore prerequisite is: a) at least one season of Hugo Halbrich’s acting workshop; b) an equivalent in either training and / or performance either in Suburban Players or other theatre groups; or c) a conversation/evaluation by course director 

FEES:  $300 for members / $600 non-members

Heller has lived in Argentina for going on 3.5 years, coming here from Canada. As well as in the United States and Mexico, he’s worked as an actor (since he was 8) in a long list of stage plays, in some films and even on radio. Plays include lead roles in The Mikado, 42nd Street, The Fantasticks, Hello Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof and Brigadoon among others. Films include a small role in the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s made-for-TV movie The Private Capital; a lead in a festival entry, My Field of Flowers; a role in an independent production, Penance; and as an extra in others. Plays he directed include The Pirates of Penzance, The Sorcerer and Six Characters in Search of an Author (this last being for Suburban Players). His father was a writer-director for films and live TV, his mother assisted and, also, managed the office at a motion picture laboratory for two decades. Heller has also served on the Board of Directors (including a term as President and as 1st Vice President) of the North Shore Light Opera Society, in the Vancouver area.
