Kiddies Christmas Fund Launched!
The ABCC Kiddies Christmas Fund collects funds to buy presents for children in vulnerable situations. This year we are working with the Salvation Army, focusing our efforts on their “Nomeolvides” Children’s Centre in Concordia, Entre Ríos, where they support 30 children from vulnerable backgrounds with their school work.
Listen to Jacqueline and Claudia, two of the teachers at the Centro Infantil de Apoyo Escolar, talking about the work they do in Concordia.
The Buenos Aires Herald set up the Kiddies Christmas Fund to share a bit of the Christmas spirit through those organisations supporting children without a family or the means to enjoy such a time in the way most of us do. After the Buenos Aires Herald closed, the ABCC carried on with the Herald’s effort and its benevolent mission.
And so that this 2024 campaign has a greater impact, we are directing all donations towards one organisation, the Salvation Army, and more specifically its “Nomeolvides” Children's Centre in Concordia.
Concordia is one of the poorest cities in Argentina. Currently, the Salvation Army has a children's centre there, supporting 30 children with their school work. The children come from vulnerable backgrounds and there is a high rate of child labour in the area.
The Salvation Army is one of the most serious and relevant social work organisations worldwide. Its multiple and diverse social actions alleviate the needs of millions of people around the world. Click here to find out about the amazing work they do in Argentina.
